The ancient technique of Cupping is thought to have been first described in the Ebers Papyrus one of the world's oldest medical textbooks (1500 B.C.) and details the Egyptians' use of cupping. Archaeologists have also found evidence of cupping in China dating back to 1000 BC.
Cupping Technique creates a suction and vacuum pressure and is used to soften tight muscles and tone tendonous attachments, loosen adhesions and lift connective tissue (or fascia), bring hydration and blood flow to body tissues, move deep inflammation to the skin surface for release, and drain excess fluids and toxins by opening lymphatic pathways.
Cupping is a stand alone treatment. Although, we find it extremely beneficial to combine Cupping with Gua Sha technique to address chronic orthopaedic pain or sports injuries. We combine Cupping with Acupuncture to address Damp and Cold conditions in the Body and Channels.
